November 2, 2010

We have been busy writing new journals about new facts we have learned. Did you know that on Nov. 1 the U.S. Weather Service was established, or what about Nov. 4 being National Candy Day? Well now you do and maybe you to can think about how your town or area is affected by severe weather or what would be a great idea for a new candy. It's just a thought.

We have begun our last book report of the year over a book of the students choice. Several students have chosen to read the book by author Ellen Hopkins fromthe library, as their choice. I am proud to announce they were listening and have chosen to expand their horizons with these novels.

General Information

Today's journal topic was "Patience, what is it?" I have chosen this topic becuase I feel that many of my students do not understand as with students their age that patience is not something we are born with but something that we learn over time. I would like to gather their responses as to what patience is and how they think they can improve their own patience with themselves, their peers and even with me and their parents. I will be the first to suggest I am not always right but I am always willing to be patient with those who tell me what I am doing wrong in my journey to get to waht is right.
